A Pharmacist Service to treat minor ailments

You don’t need to see the doctor as you can get advice and treatment from your local pharmacist. If you don’t pay for your prescriptions, most pharmacists will be able to supply medicines to treat these conditions effectively and they will be free.
The aim of this scheme is to treat minor conditions such as those shown in the list. You will not be able to get any regular medication through this scheme.

What do I have to do next?
You go straight to your participating pharmacist and you will be seen without an appointment, but remember to take evidence of your exemption from prescription charges. You will be required to sign the back opf the pharmacists prescription and to show your evidence. If you do not show evidence of exemption from prescription charges, then the pharmacist will still give you the medicines but this exemption will be checked at a later time.
What will the pharmacist ask?
You will be asked questions about your symptoms in a confidential area of the pharmacy. Be assured, all the details you give the pharmacist will be kept confidential

We perform a detailed pre-travel health assessment prior to the consultation, primarily to ensure that there are no known contra-indications to the travel vaccinations we may administer or anti-malarial treatment prescribed. Last minute travellers can be usually be accommodated, and same day appointments are frequently available - don't miss out on your travel vaccination or travel advice just because your GP or practice nurse can't fit you in!
We also carry a range of travel accessories, including mosquito repellents containing Deet, mosquito nets, first aid kits, water purification drops etc.
