Courtyard Surgery

How Do I...
Make An Appointment?

Consultations are by appointment only. We try to accommodate all appointment requests to see a doctor or nurse within 48 hours. However, patients may have to be seen by any of the doctors or nurses here. If you have an urgent medical problem, you will be seen within 24 hours by a doctor or nurse. Please explain the urgency to the receptionist.

If you wish to book an appointment you can do this at reception or by telephoning 020 8673 1386. Please let us know in good time if you cannot keep your appointment so that it is available for us to offer to another patient.

We have a booked appointment system. However, because we know you do not plan your illnesses we also have extra bookable appointments to be seen the same day for both adults and children. We also hold some evening surgeries for the convenience of those patients who cannot attend during the day.

For medical problems that need to be seen on the day, please telephone the surgery at 8.00am for the morning session or at 3.00pm for the afternoon session.

We also have 48-hour access appointments available which enable you to book an appointment with a doctor within two working days. For your added convenience, we also release appointments on Friday mornings which are bookable for the following week.

If you have an urgent medical problem, you will be seen within 24 hours by a doctor or nurse. Please explain the urgency to the receptionist.

We are part of the national collaborative called Advanced Access. Our aim is to improve waiting times to enable patients to see a health care professional on the day of their choice.

If you have a long-term ongoing requirement for treatment, let reception know when making an appointment so you can book in advance.

The practice recognises the right of the patient to choose a named healthcare professional for general treatment or in relation to a particular condition (eg the choice of a named GP or treatment by a nurse for a particular condition such as diabetes). Any such preference expressed by or on behalf of the patient will be recorded in writing.

How Do I...
Obtain Telephone Advice?

Doctors cannot take telephone calls when they are consulting. If you need to speak to a doctor you may leave a message and the doctor will return your call as soon as he/she is next available. The best time to call is between 12 noon and 12.30pm. Urgent messages should be directed to the duty doctor for a response that day.

How Do I...
Obtain A Home Visit?

If you are too ill to come to the surgery please telephone reception on 020 8673 1386 before 10.00am if at all possible. Home visits are very demanding of the doctors’ time and we especially encourage parents to bring children to the surgery if possible. We have many elderly and housebound patients and try to reserve home visits solely for them.

How Do I...
Obtain Test Results?

The results of tests and letters from the hospital are received and checked by the doctors every morning. Please phone for results between 12.30 and 1.00pm. Test results take time to reach us, so please do not ring before you have been asked to do so. Enquiries about tests ordered by the hospital should be directed to the hospital.
